Snakes no Crocs!

I waited till daylight 6.30am!! and ran down along the beach soft sand in places and wind on the turnaround. Really cold weather about 10 O C !! but it does warm up to around 27 O C.
No Crocs on view (too cold) but did see a snake on the beach.
Can anyone identify?

Continuing the theme of 'nature on the run' !

this evening I came across a Brown(?) snake crossing the path in front of me! just a hundred meters into my run!

Actually I might have done a service to the community as it was heading towards a kiddies playground but when it saw me, it headed away (I'm not a pretty sight ) off into the bush.
