Don Wallace/ Dave Heath

Just a further comment on the Gold Coast Marathon festival.

Well done to Darryl Crook and Jay Twist in the 10K, they are really begining to show their potential.
In the masters cats amongst probably many other performances what stood out for me was

Don Wallace M48 13th Place (1st M45) 2:31:57 (net 2:31:53)

He may well have secured himself a flight to Japan for a Marathon for being first male Queenslander as he was last year.
I noted that Geoff Berkeley ran 2;51.10, he must have blown up as he is capable of 2;30-2;35.
In the Half, Peter Reeves M55, 75;51 was a classey run.

Jamie Harrison brought news of a new M45 blitzing the 1500m World! 3m54 for a 45 year old is just off the Jesus's World Record and set a new British mark eclipsing my former club mate Pete Molloy's 3m58. Earlier in the year Dave had run 3m55 see his PB's and progress here and Jamie also sent a photo of Dave No. 455,he appears to be living and competing in France.
Stunning times!!!

Another very impressive run at the GCM was Michael McIntyre's 2:32:34 as an over 50 runner - again close to the AR (2:30:52).
